Pat’s Film Club is back this Summer Solstice with a landmark event – a special screening of the cult classic THE WICKER MAN, celebrating its 50th anniversary. We’ve also got some  bonus content that will make this night a treat for all film enthusiasts.

THE WICKER MAN

Step into the eerie world of Summerisle, where Police Sergeant Neil Howie, a career-best performance by Edward Woodward, is caught in a web of pagan rituals and mystic intrigue while investigating the disappearance of a young girl. Christopher Lee, in his iconic role as Lord Summerisle, guides us through this uncanny realm with his usual unsettling charm..

THE WICKER MAN is more than a horror film; it’s a haunting exploration of faith, tradition, and the terrifying consequences of blind belief. Its narrative threads weave a spellbinding tale that’s as chilling today as it was half a century ago.

And we’ve got something extra special for this anniversary screening. Alongside the movie, you’ll be treated to a special recording of the film’s birthday event from Picturehouse Central. Hosted by Edith Bowman, it features interviews with Britt Ekland and others from the film, musical interludes and load of insights and trivia. It’s a rare opportunity to peel back the curtain and delve into the creative process behind this cinematic masterpiece.

“THE WICKER MAN, a timeless tale of suspense, mystery, and chilling horror, remains a pinnacle of the genre, leaving an indelible mark on cinema.” The Guardian
