CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON

ENTER THE DRAGON

Sunday August 27th

Get ready for a seriously exciting night with two of the most successful Martial Arts films of all time.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since Pat’s Film Club started with the magnificent action, musical romance RRR.

I wanted to find something that might capture the same mixture of action, romance, bromance and cult kudos.

There was really only one choice!

Get set for an unforgettable night of martial arts mayhem with the legendary Wushu masterpiece CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON and the ultimate Bruce Lee film, ENTER THE DRAGON.

It’s been a remarkable 23 years since the premiere of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2000.

It broke down barriers as a foreign language film, smashing box office records for foreign flicks. It raked in a cool $100 million in the first three and a half months – that’s twice as much as the next highest-earning foreign film. And it wasn’t just about the numbers; both regular folks and critics were all-in.

Zhang Ziyi’s graceful moves and irresistible charm made her a household name, captivating everyone. Michelle Yeoh and Chow Yun Fat needed no introduction.

ENTER THE DRAGON played a massive role in my childhood during the 1970s.

Bruce Lee? Absolute legend. When it comes to kung fu films, this is the gold standard.

Even after all this time, this film still stands tall as one of the most influential action movies of all time. It’s incredible how it keeps shaping the genre – without Bruce Lee, there may well have never been a Neo or a John Wick.

You owe it to yourself to see these films!

See you there –

Sunday August 27th, 6pm
