Art Of Action – THE CRAFT OF MOVIE STUNTS
November – December 2024
Pat’s Film Club is proud to be part of the BFI FAN “Art of Action” series of screenings taking place across the whole of the UK.
We have partnered with Falmouth University School of Film and Television and Action Xtreme to bring a classic action film from 1980 to new audiences, with a demo/Q&A with a Stunt Artist.
STUNTMAN
An action-packed homage to the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema
A washed-up action choreographer struggling to find his footing in a changing industry risks everything to stage an epic comeback, but can he repair the damage to his relationship with his estranged daughter before it’s too late?
“This retro Hong Kong action movie is the film The Fall Guy wanted to be” – Irish Times

THE EVENTTHE CRAFT OF MOVIE STUNTS: STUNTMAN + ACTIVITY
We are offering venues across the South-West the opportunity to host event screenings of the film, enhanced with added-value activities organized by Falmouth University School of Film and Television (SOFT) and Action Xtreme.
Our aim is to help young filmmakers, students, aspiring stunt artists, and young people from sports clubs involved in British Stunt Register disciplines—such as fencing, horse riding, gymnastics, diving, and martial arts—to come together to watch the film. They will have the chance to hear from and ask questions of a BSR stunt artist, followed by a networking mixer to meet one another.
Who knows what collaborations might emerge?
The event is tailored to each individual venue’s requirements.
